Middlebury's Mardi-Gras Metamorphosis Masquerade

For one night, Middlebury turns into New Orleans.

It begins in downtown Middlebury, with a parade from College Park to Triangle Park. Floats built by friends, families, and local crews all compete for a $1,000 prize. Beads fly. Brass blares. Stilt walkers, street performers, drummers, and costumed revelers turn Main Street into a moving celebration, where watching isn’t enough — you’re part of it.

When the parade spills into Triangle Park, the street party erupts into a festival and market, with food trucks and activities on the town green, street performers on merchants row, and outdoor music in Town Hall Theater’s Maloney Plaza.

And when the outdoor music wraps, the crowd flows into THT's Rothrock Stage for the Masquerade Ball, with the headliner show, crowning of the Mardi Gras King and Queens, and many other surprises.

Come dressed up. Build a float. Chase beads. Crown your royalty.

It's not just a festival, it’s the birth of a tradition.
